Miami is one of those places that I’ve always wanted to visit, and when I finally made it there with my husband in February, it didn’t disappoint. When you’re visiting Miami , there are so many things to do and see! Here are some tips for making the most of your time in this amazing city.
How to Get Around in Miami in?
- Rent a car: Renting a car is the most convenient way to get around and see all that the city has to offer. If you are planning to stay for more than a few days, I recommend renting a car while at the airport to get around the city, especially if you are staying in the downtown area. This way you won’t have to depend on transportation, you can just get up and go as needed and you can explore outside of the city. Be prepared to pay for parking and also beware of the crazy drivers.
Use ride-sharing services: If you don’t want to rent a car, ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft are widely available in Miami. They’re also an affordable and convenient option for getting around the city.
Take public transportation: Miami has an extensive public transportation system that includes buses, trains, and trolleys. If you’re on a budget, this is a great way to get around the city.
Rent a bike: Miami is a bike-friendly city, and renting a bike is a great way to explore the city at your own pace. There are many bike rental companies in the city, and some even offer guided tours.
Walk: Miami is a great city for walking, especially in the more pedestrian-friendly areas like South Beach and the Art Deco District. Walking is a great way to explore the city and take in all the sights and sounds.
Where to Stay in Miami?
If you’re planning a trip to Miami, you might be interested to know that you could get a free hotel stay just by being a member of Hilton Honors. What to Wear Around Miami?
Beachwear:
If you’re planning on spending a lot of time at the beach, pack lightweight, breathable fabrics that will dry quickly and sandals or flip-flops. It’s a good idea to pack swimwear for taking a dip in the ocean or pool. Also bring cover-ups, you’ll need these for the beach, poolside or laying out at the hotel’s private cabana area (if it has one). A hat is also a good idea. And don’t forget sunglasses! If you do happen to forget something, don’t worry, you can find almost anything you need at any of Miami’s many souvenir shops.
Dressy Clothing:
- Bring slacks, blazers and dresses for going out to dinner or attending events. Some of the dinner restaurants are more dressy-er than others so be prepared and pack a couple of nicer outfits.
- Pack comfortable outdoor clothing such as shorts, t-shirts, and sneakers for exploring the city.
- If you’re planning on visiting Miami during winter months (November through April), make sure to pack some warmer clothes like jeans or pants with long sleeves.
It’s important to bring a light jacket or sweater for cooler evenings or air-conditioned buildings. The climate in Miami is tropical, but it can get quite chilly at night.
Accessories are a great way to add some style and personality to your outfit. If you’re visiting Miami, consider bringing along a few accessories such as scarves, hats, sunglasses, jewelry and handbags for a more stylish look.
